The Modern Day Linians: Shield of Destiny

In the Destiny Saga, “Shield of Destiny” is one of the five subsets of the Linkatsa Religion charged with a specific duty by Mystic Calm in ensuring that Chaos is eventually defeated. Shield of Destiny members are responsible for watching over and protecting the Destine Family bloodline throughout the ages.

The Destine Family are a very important clan in the Destiny Saga. They ruled a kingdom in the B.C. era called Old France. In particular, the father/son duo of King Shard Destine and Prince Torell Destine are primary figures in the first novel. Mystic Calm was aware that the later generations of Destine would become instrumental in defeating Chaos and he had a select group of Linians watch over them.

In Destiny: Book 1 The Two Princes, we meet a member of Shield of Destiny named Karen Weathers, an 18-year-old high school student, in 1995. She is the primary guardian of a Destine named Terrell Dest. They both grew up in the fictional town of Piersdale, NJ and went to school together. It was only a few days before their graduation that their true purpose in life was exposed in front of them…

The Modern Day Linians: Last Line

The Destiny Saga storyline starts from the beginning of time and follows through to modern times. The Linians have been involved with keeping order on Earth by making sure that the occasional Secondary Beings who happen to arrive on Earth stay out of the public consciousness. Mystic Calm built up a massive infrastructure of Linians to maintain this lack of awareness. One of the five subsets that kept that watch were called Last Line.

Last Line (or as the members are called, Last Liners) was embedded in every major governmental organization since the A.D. timeline was created. They never got involved in law making or abused the various organizations for power and greed. They just “borrowed” the cutting edge surveillance technology of each era to keep tabs on any Secondary “anomalies” and stop the invaders from reaching the public. They were masters of spinning the truth to make those who were witness to the “strangeness” seem like they were seeing things or under the “influence”, so to speak. They kept things under wraps for ages.

In the novel, Destiny: Book I The Two Princes, we catch up with Last Line in the year 1995. We meet members Lt. Carlos “Rain” Morales, Lt. Melissa Davis and Lt. Dylan Kim as they find themselves influential players in the narrative endgame.

   What is their purpose?

The Fegarians

The Fegarians are a very militaristic and rules oriented people. they reside in the Secondary Realm of Fegra and the geography of that world resembles a post World War III Euro-flavored mixture combined with a healthy amount of Romantic Europe. Together with the fact that they are the second most technologically advanced civilization in the Destiny Saga (number one would be Netra-Six).

Each Fegarian have varying degrees of feline features. they are all humanoid, but some can pass for human more than others. Some just have cat eyes, while some are full on panther faced. All of them have excellent physical skill and grace.

In the timeline of my first 3 novels, they are led by Lord Cat Tiamano (pictured above) and his high command, The Baron Four. He takes his orders from an unseen Chaos, who is using the Fegarians to help him get his strength back so he can resume trying to drive humanity insane…

   Or destroy it.

The Giradians

In the Secondary Realm of Giradia, lived the bestial (in human eyes) Giradians. They are a race of hunter/gatherer type warriors. The Giradian society seemed to resemble the hybrid architecture of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. They have a Royal Family that follows the Linkatsa Religion and are under advisement by Mystic Calm.

In the three novels that I’m working on, the current monarchy is led by King Umbrage and his wife, Queen Incense. They have two sons, Prince Rampage and his brother, Sucessor Contemn. Although they aren’t as technologically advanced as the Fegarians or the Netral, the main exports of their realm are in agriculture and law enforcement ideology.

They also are the only race in all of the Secondary Realms to have an ability called Adjoination. It is a process that allows them, after death, to be revived by a human being (who has to willingly) allow a Giradian to inhabit their body… until they die a second time. After that, the human carries on with the rest of their life. They consider this ability to be disrespectful towards Primary Beings, but a certain situation in the novels forces them to use it in desperation…
