The Fates of Destiny on “The Concept of Love”
For the uninitiated, the “Fates” of Destiny are the positive and negative forces that influence the events of the The Destiny Saga from behind the scenes. They are also the co-authors of The Book of Events.
Here are a few of their thoughts:
The Boy on “Love”
I never know where anything comes from. I don’t know where I come from. But I do know that there is some kind of connection between us all, real or imagined. My “mirror image” thinks that love is a waste of time, but I believe in it with all my heart.
It can be devastating sometimes, which is why I think my nemesis doesn’t want to touch love with a ten foot pole. I think he’s scared to make a connection. I know I am.
My heart’s been broken over the terrible things we do to each other, losing those that I love, and the tight-wire act of Romantic Love.
I’m fascinated by that Romantic notion of a specific love. I’ve never felt it personally, but I love the concept. But my love is ultimately for everyone…and I cannot discriminate.
The Lost Child on “Love”
There is nothing I find more useless than love. For me…it’s an unnecessary want. There are better, more immediate pleasures out there. I’d rather have a solid pleasure than something as vague as love.
Don’t get it twisted though: I lust after the pain that it causes others. The countless tears shed over that flawed idea. Crimes of passion and the corruption of the human spirit are excellent byproducts of love.
I just personally do not want anything to do with it. My goody two shoes nemesis gets his heart broken time and time again searching for love… and I laugh and I exploit it to destroy his faith in society.
I can be so twisted, but I will not let love twist me.
