“Politics” by Karen Weathers
I spent most of the last two weeks watching the conventions for both the Republicans and the Democrats and it got me to thinking a lot of things. Don’t worry that I’m about to go on some government flavored political rant. I take no sides when it comes to that stuff.
What I do want to talk about, for a moment, is our social politics. Nothing I’m gonna say to you right now is going to be new to you…but I’m gonna say it anyway.
Because that’s how I roll.
For those of you tuning in (or weren’t aware of what changed in our world since 1998), I was a member of the Linians. Our job was to keep our world safe from Chaos, but it seems like his argument about us never being able to achieve unity beat our philosophy about Utopia. In my thirty-five years on this planet, I’m becoming more and more angry at our lack of potential as a world civilization. But I know talk is cheap and, for a lot of us, the world has us beat down.
I really don’t what to say or do about anything any more, but I do know that I have to at least try to be more philanthropic in my actions. I can’t save the world, but I can save my optimism. I don’t know what it would take for us to help each other more often, but I know we have to try our best to be less political with each other.
We just have to try our best to be more loving.
Best wishes for your healthy life,
Karen
