Karen’s Thoughts #4: Mystic Calm

We Linians get our name from a man called Linkera.
He was created by angels and demons to fight a man named Chaos.
Linkera had a father-in-law named Calm.
This Calm became something called a Mystic,
a man with near infinite spiritual powers.
He lived for thousands and thousands of years.
And he is my mentor.
He taught me about peace and community.
He taught me to hold my own in the face of my gifted abilities.
I am the most deadliest person on Earth when it comes to
hand to hand combat,
but Mystic Calm kept me humble and responsible.
I don’t know what we Linians would do without him.
I would not be the woman that I am without his guidance.

My life as a Linian is a strange one.
I know that there are realms beyond our Solar System.
I know that there are beings out there that aren’t human.
I know that there are people out there with special powers.
I know that my martial arts skills can defeat any human.
But I am still not sure who my Creator is.
I know I go to church with my family and I’m a Christian,
but I still don’t understand the point of all this sometimes.
I believe that I’m on the right path,
but I only hope I’m right.
Life is rough but I know you can make it through.
Karen’s Thoughts #2: Skin

Supposedly I’m defined by my “texture.”
People define who I am before I open my mouth.
Because of my “texture.”
Some people will never know my spirit
because, for them, “texture” is all that matters.
We Linians don’t care about “texture”,
we only care about love.
And the truth about love is that “texture” does not have a place.
Have a blessed and beautiful day.
Karen’s Thoughts #1: Welcoming

My life is a secret filled with duty.
I have to watch over my childhood friend
who may one day have to save the world.
So my childhood was sacrificed in order
for me to be prepared to keep him from harm.
I wear my responsibility proudly
and I welcome any threat to try to come close
to him…
but I also welcome a piece of my life
that is my very own.
